The next Moving Mountains event is with the Festival of Nature. They are hosting a series of online and accessible events specifically for disabled and chronically ill people that you can find on this link.
(The list below was also compiled from the online brochure by Sarah Hennell to collate all the accessible events in one place, Festival of Nature have since updated their website to reflect this too, I’m sharing Sarah’s list and links with permission and with thanks).
Leigh Woods Online Walk, Monday 3 June, 4- 4.30pm. Pre-recorded, streamed on their Facebook page.
Moving Mountains: Writing Nature through Illness and Disability, Monday 3rd June, 7- 8pm
Eurasian Otter Conservation with the UK Wild Otter Trust, Tuesday 4 June, 6.30- 7:30pm is online.
Online walk at WWT Slimbridge, Wednesday 5th June, 1-2.30pm.
Virtual walk at Tyntesfield, Friday 7th June, 1pm- 2.30pm.
Get crafty with Nature online, Saturday 8th June, 1-2pm: Aimed at disabled and chronically ill people. If you input your address they’ll send you the supplies to use.
There’s also a social event being held in Bristol’s Millennium Square on Sunday 2nd June, with lunch, minibus transport and BSL interpreters.
In order that they can properly accommodate everyone’s access needs they are asking for bookings to be made a week in advance of the events - so for some this means you need to book soon as Monday, 27th May is the cut off time for some (others are running later in June and so have a little more flexibility). These all look great, especially with so many festivals cutting back on online access (or removing it entirely), so please do support Festival of Nature if you can, by sharing and signing up if you’d like to join them - I suspect giving feedback and words of support will also help to keep this festival accessible in future years. I hope to see you for the Moving Mountains event!
Have a great weekend.
